Crewe farm park reopens for new season after bad weather delay
A farm park in Crewe has finally reopened for the new season, after temporarily delaying the opening due to heavy rain.
Lakemore Farm Park, Clay Lane, Haslington, was due to reopen for the season on Good Friday (March 29), but owner, Debbie Lewis, was forced to delay this for a few days.
On Easter Monday (April 1), the park opened for the season with a trial opening.
Lakemore Farm Park said: "We are so pleased to say that after these three days of dry weather, the ground has dried up enough for us to trial opening the farm park safely.
"We are going to open, however there will be some changes we need to make you aware."
It was the first time in 20 years of running the park, the owners had been forced not to reopen earlier as planned.
The family-run venue, open between 10am and 4pm daily, added: "There will be extremely limited car parking available as we are unable to utilise the field car park.
"The mini golf will remain closed until further notice.
"The ground is still wet and muddy, so wellies and waterproofs are essential.
"We will continue to review this decision on a daily basis, and it may be that we need to close again if the heavy rains return but we will update social media if, and when, this is the case.
"Finally, we are lambing at the moment; please do not enter the polytunnel if you are or may be pregnant."
