A dessert shop chain in Crewe has abruptly closed down, with bailiffs taking enforcement action on the building.

Kaspa's Desserts, Nantwich Road, ceased operating in late February, with no company comment as to why.

The store, which opened in September 2018, serves a variety of ice cream, cookie dough, waffles, crepes, doughnuts and cakes, as well as milkshakes and smoothies.

When Nub News visited the building, notices from bailiffs, Wilson and Roe, were stuck to the building's windows, indicating High Court enforcement action.

The notices state it intends to sell all the goods within the premises, unless the owner comes forward to collect them.

The enforcement agency stated the goods were being held at the property and are "ready for collection immediately" and must be arranged between the owner and the bailiffs.

The notice, dated Tuesday 27 February, continued: "Unless the goods are collected on or before 5pm on 5 March, the involuntary bailee or its agents will remove and dispose of the goods.

"The period between now and the deadline is sufficient to provide you with a reasonable opportunity to take delivery of the Goods.

If the goods are disposed of, the involuntary bailee intends to retain its disposal costs from any sale proceeds."

With this deadline now passed, it is currently unclear whether Kaspa's came forward to collect the goods.

The ice cream parlour has not made any announcement or comment on the closure of the Crewe branch or the reasons for doing so.

It is still listed on its website of more than 100 stores and listed as operating on Google.

Wilson and Roe have taken enforcement action on several Kaspa's stores this year, including one in Chelmsford.

Nub News has contacted Kaspa's and Wilson and Roe for comment.
