Crewe charity walkers' Snowdon climb helps out homeless and food poverty action group

By Gwyn Griffiths   14th Sep 2021

A CREWE action group dedicated to tackling homelessness and food poverty has been given a helping hand by a Snowdon walking party.

Chance Changing Lives, based at Coronation Crescent, was chosen by Team Pathways, along with the Joshua Tree, to share the funds raised by an ascent of the loftiest peak in Wales and England.

The team, all staff at Pathways CIC, a Crewe-based not-for-profit social enterprise, donned Chance Changing Lives T-shirts as they tackled the Pyg Track route up Snowdon, which is 5.5km in length and involves an ascent of 800m.

So far their gofundme appeal has exceeded a £1,000 target - standing currently at £1,220 - although the gofundme link will remain live for the remainder of the week for more donations.

Chance Changing Lives supports the homeless and vulnerable in Crewe and Nantwich.

You can read about their work at this previous Nub News article here.

The Joshua Tree is a Cheshire-based Children's cancer charity operating across the North West and North Wales.
