A RAILWAY charity based in Crewe is looking for office furniture after expanding its team.

The Railway Benefit Fund's staff have returned to their office on Nantwich Road after working remotely during lockdown.

But with limited space the office's existing furniture will not be able to accommodate their needs.

The charity has launched an appeal for donations of unwanted furniture, perhaps from local offices.

Digital Engagement Officer Faye Maloney said: "The team are starting to be in the office more frequently and we have also had some new additions, meaning we now have eight people but only seven desks.

"The desks we do have were already secondhand, but as we have a small office we have realised they are too big and we need some smaller desks and new office chairs."

The charity hopes that organisations occupying Crewe offices may have unwanted furniture that they would be willing to donate.

The Railway Benefit Fund provides support and grants to railway staff and their families in hard times. It runs a grants programme, a children's fund and offers debt and legal advice.

If you have any desks or chairs that could be donated then email [email protected] or ring 0345 241 2885.
