Crewe care village celebrates Christmas with special festive events
A Crewe care village has celebrated Christmas with special festive events, inviting locals to an annual fair, along with food and drink and live entertainment.
Crewe's community joined dementia specialist, Belong, Brookhouse Drive, for seasonal celebrations.
Locals were welcomed to the care village's annual fair to meet Santa, finding out if they are on the naughty or nice list.
Visitors enjoyed a browse of artisan gift stalls from independent traders.
Guests also had the chance to mingle with Belong's older residents and apartment tenants over mince pies and mulled wine served up in the onsite bistro.
Other highlights included poetry-memory workshops with Crewe Rhymeologist, Gareth Williams, live entertainment from singers, musicians, and ventriloquist, and a Tree of Light service, led by visiting Reverend Peter Bennett.
Those keen to get out and about have been delighting in group excursions to pubs and restaurants, as well as joining nearby schools for singing, stories, and games with local children.
Experience coordinator at Belong Crewe, Jessica Butler, said: "Our customers have been having a joyous time getting involved in all the Christmas cheer. It's been a real ball, so far, and we've much more to come.
"We're all about involving the community in our experiences and so we welcome everyone.
"Pop in to say hello and ask for a copy of our 'What's On' guide to see what's coming up. For now, merry Christmas all."
