Crewe bank customers have been redirected to Staffordshire as a town centre branch has temporarily closed, allowing "essential maintenance" works.

HSBC, Market Street, temporarily closed at 2pm on Friday 26 January, with a major refurbishment commencing inside.

Crewe HSBC customers have been directed to Newcastle-under-Lyme for a month, with the branch planned to reopen at 9:30am on Friday 23 February.

HSBC, Market Street, is expected to reopen at 9:30am on Friday 23 February (Ryan Parker).

Currently, the entrance to HSBC is barricaded off with a temporary closure notice placed in the window.

HSBC is offering a pop-up branch service in Crewe Library, between 10am and 3pm on Tuesday 13 February.

This service is for account enquiries, with no cash services available.

HSBC's closure notice reads: "We are sorry we need to close this branch for improvements from 2pm on Friday 26 January and we will reopen at 9:30am on Friday 23 February.

"Your nearest HSBC UK branch is 64 High Street, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 1QN.

"Or you can access your remote banking wherever you are: with our mobile banking app, our website, or over the phone.

HSBC is offering a pop-up branch service in Crewe Library, between 10am and 3pm on Tuesday 13 February (Ryan Parker).

"Personal customers call: 03457 404 404. Business customers call: 03457 60 60 60.

"Customers can also access some of our services at the nearest Post Office: 171 West Steet, Crewe."
