A police helicopter circled over Crewe in the middle of the night to help find a missing woman, with the operation ending in a positive outcome.

On Saturday 3 February, Cheshire Police received reports of a missing person in the town.

A woman was reported to have gone missing at around 10:30pm.

At 12:51am, a police helicopter was deployed to support local officers in searching for the missing woman.

The helicopter left Crewe at 1:32am, with the woman found "safe and well" by officers, shortly after 2am.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 10.30pm on Saturday 3 February, officers were called to reports of a missing woman in Crewe. 

"Local officers, supported by the police helicopter, conducted a search of the area.

The missing woman was found 'safe and well' shortly after 2am on Sunday 4 February (Cheshire Police).

"The woman was located safe and well, shortly after 2am."
