Crewe bank customers have hit out at a branch's sudden temporary closure claiming they did not receive any notification - with its reopening pushed back.

Lloyds Bank, Victoria Street, temporarily closed at 2pm on Friday 12 May - allowing major renovation works to take place inside.

Crewe Lloyds customers have been redirected to the bank's Northwich High Street store for exactly one month - with the store pushed back to reopen at 9am on Monday 12 June.

South Cheshire woman, Jan Roberts, said: "I did catch something on Crewe Nub News but wasn't sure exactly when. There was no letter in the post which I would expect.

"I live in Nantwich where there was a branch in the town centre for many years.

"I have remained loyal, despite needing to travel into Crewe stumping up the fuel and parking costs.

"Last Friday (June 2), I had a wasted trip to find it closed. And to suggest driving all the way to Northwich is an outrage."
