Crewe Alexandra have announced the signing of Welsh midfielder Eli King - the club's ninth addition of the summer.
King signed from Championship side Cardiff City on a loan deal until January yesterday (August 25).
The 19-year-old started for The Bluebirds in their EFL Cup round one defeat at home to Portsmouth earlier this month (August 9).
King has represented Wales Under 21's on five occasions since 2021 - also making three appearances for Wales Under 17's.
The central midfielder made his Cardiff City first-team debut on 23 October 2021 as a second half substitute at Middlesbrough.
His side lost 2-0 that day at the Riverside Stadium.
King has made a total of four Championship appearances - he is contracted at Cardiff until June 2023.
Yesterday, Crewe Alexandra assistant manager, Lee Bell, spoke of his delight at the club's fourth central midfield signing of the summer.
Bell told Crewe Alexandra's website: "He's been on the radar for some time and we are happy to get it over the line.
"Cardiff were initially reluctant to let him out because he's been in and around their squad throughout pre-season, so we had to be patient.
"He has plenty of pedigree and is just the type of player we have been looking for to add to the squad."
King has been described as 'an all-action box-to-box midfielder.' He trained with his new teammates at Reaseheath training ground yesterday.
Yesterday, the Bluebirds midfielder told Crewe Alexandra's website: "I like to do a bit of everything. I like to get forward, defend, work hard for the team, and win the ball back.
"I feel I can help the team dictate games."
King will wear Crewe's number 20 shirt. The Championship midfielder is in contention to play against Bradford City this Saturday (August 27).
He added: "I'm really looking forward to it. First and foremost, I want to help the team.
"I know we've made a decent start so I want to add to that."
Crewe Alexandra have won 36 of the 94 clashes with Bradford City over the years.
The Railwaymen will be hoping for their 37th victory against the Bantams on Saturday (3pm).
