Crewe Alexandra academy ranked above Liverpool for productivity in 2022

Crewe Alexandra's academy has been ranked above Liverpool FC for productivity in 2022 - making them the only club outside the Premier League within the top 10.

The new official rankings were announced by football performance analyst, Training Ground Guru, yesterday (October 13).

Last season (2021-2022), saw Crewe's category two academy move up to ninth in the official standings.

The club's productivity score of 94.5 was above the likes of Premier League sides Liverpool, Southampton, Aston Villa, Fulham and Leicester City.

In 2020–2021, Crewe's academy was ranked 11th highest of 82 in England and Wales.

The latest standings show the Railwaymen have moved up two positions - standing among the elite in English football.

Crewe are the only non-Premier League side within the top 10 of the rankings.

Crewe Alexandra's productivity score of 94.5 was above the likes of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool (Wikimedia Commons).

They are also the only category two academy within the top 15.

These figures are based on the number of England-qualified graduates who made at least one league appearance in the Premier League, Football League or National League during the 2021-2022 season.

Crewe are the only non-Premier League side within the top 10 of the rankings (Training Ground Guru).

The rankings are the only publicly-available resource of their kind and rank Academies from Categories One to Three.
