A cake shop chain has officially launched at the former KPI Recruiting branch in Crewe, becoming the dessert outlet's first Cheshire East branch.

Egg Free Cake Box, 66-68 Nantwich Road, opened its doors to customers on Tuesday 18 June, following a month of works at the site.

The Crewe franchise, which is employing three staff, is owned by Wolverhampton resident Sukhy, who has operated a branch on Broad Street, Hanley, for four years.

Egg Free Cake Box's Nantwich Road branch is its first location in Cheshire East (Ryan Parker).

Sukhy told Nub News: "This franchise has been in my family for around 10 years, with my daughter and son also operating West Midlands branches.

"Cake Box approached me if I would like to open a store in Crewe. They had a town centre unit in mind, but I opted for Nantwich Road.

"This unit, which was operated by KPI Recruiting seemed perfect for us and am I happy Cake Box has now launched in Crewe.

"So far, local residents have come in to the shop really excited about our opening.

"Customers of The British Lion pub have come in saying the landlady has been raving about this place. People also heard about us from Crewe Nub News.

"At Egg Free Cakebox, we offer a variety of cakes, including Victoria sponge, chocolate sponge and red velvet cake, all with fresh cream.

Egg Free Cake Box is open 11am to 7pm (Monday to Saturday) and 11am to 5pm (Sunday) (Ryan Parker).

"We also serve cheesecakes, cupcakes, brownies and chocolate truffles.

"The taste without egg is very light and fluffy. The cakes are delicious.

"Customers can order cakes in-store or online, with a click and collect service. We also have a delivery service where the price is calculated on mileage. "

Egg Free Cake Box is holding an official opening event from 11am on Saturday 29 June. Customers will be able to enjoy free tasters, with face painting and balloons available for kids.

Sukhy said: "For personalisation of our cakes, customers can buy a cake from our display and request for us to write a personal message on it.

"They can also order a personalised cake online. For a basic cake we only need one hours notice. It is a very quick service here.
