Crewe Alexandra have completed the signings of two young Premier League players - joining the club on loan until the end of the season.

The Railwaymen signed goalkeeper, James Beadle, from Brighton and midfielder, Ryan Finnigan, from Southampton on Wednesday night (January 18).

Beadle, age 18, has yet to taste professional football and signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with Brighton earlier this week.

The goalkeeper comes in as competition for Dave Richards after Arthur Okonkwo was recalled by Arsenal and loaned to SK Sturm Graz.

Finnigan, age 19, has made one first-team appearance for Southampton - coming off the bench in a 2-0 FA Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town in 2020-21 season.

The midfielder was announced shortly after Beadle with a Wakey Wines style announcement video.

The 11-second video inside a South Street shop asks Finnigan the same questions as the viral Wakey Wines clips but with a slight alteration.

Finnigan jokingly walked out of the store after being asked: "what's the best shop in Crewe?"

This video received mixed responses on social media with some Crewe fans loving it and other EFL supporters calling for the club's relegation.

Beadle and Finnigan will remain with Crewe until the conclusion of the 2022-23 season (Ryan Parker).

Both players met their new teammates for training on Thursday (January 19) as they prepare for the Cheshire Derby at home to Stockport County on Saturday (January 21).

Beadle and Finnigan will remain with Crewe until the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.

The pair became Crewe's second and third signings of the January Transfer Window - joining 26-year-old forward Elliot Nevitt - who signed from Tranmere Rovers on January 11.

Crewe Alexandra were delighted to complete the loan signings of Beadle and Finnigan.
