A Crewe high school has had to close its doors to pupils and staff - due to 'adverse weather conditions and continued snowfall.'
Shavington Academy, Rope Lane, decided it was 'unsafe' for pupils and staff to attend the school on Thursday (January 19).
The high school remains teaching pupils online via teams channels - with it beginning from 9:30am.
Shavington Academy confirmed the closure on its website and social media.
A statement read: "It is with regret that the Academy will not be open today.
"The adverse weather conditions and continued snowfall this morning have combined to make the site and surrounding roads unsafe.
"We are unable to staff the Academy safely and the health and safety of pupils and staff is our greatest priority.
"Pupils' learning will be loaded onto their TEAMs channels this morning, by 9.30am for learning to be accessed remotely."
The Oaks Academy, Ruskin Community High School, St Thomas More Catholic High School and Sir William Stanier School remain open.
