Crewe MP DR Kieran Mullan has failed to comment on no confidence vote - whilst the Cheshire East leader has urged MPs to vote Prime Minister Boris Johnson out.
Cheshire East Council leader and Labour councillor, Cllr Sam Corcoran, has called on Cheshire MPs to vote Prime Minister Boris Johnson out of office.
Cllr Corcoran said: "Boris is the first Prime Minister ever to be found guilty of breaking the law whilst in office – and it was a law that he made.
"Boris Johnson has been sacked twice for lying and he has lost the confidence of the nation.
"Having a Prime Minister who is clearly untrustworthy is damaging to the reputation of all politicians and to Britain's reputation across the world.
"For the good of the country he needs to be removed from office.
"I expect my MP to speak out to uphold high standards of integrity and ensure that Boris Johnson ceases to be Prime Minister of this country."
This council leader's comments come after the threshold of 15 per cent - at least 54 Conservative MPs - triggered a vote of no confidence in the PM.
A number of Tory MPs requested that the news on the vote would be released after the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend.
This comes in wake of the Partygate scandal where Mr Johnson was issued a £50 fixed penalty notice by police in April for breaking COVID laws in June 2020.
In total, 126 fines to 83 people were issued to members of government.
Crewe West Labour Cllr Connor Naismith told Nub News: "The boos at the Queens Platinum Jubilee Thanksgiving Service sent a clear message: The Prime Minister has lost the confidence of the country.
"Whether or not he has lost the confidence of his parliamentary party should be irrelevant in that context. He should do the decent thing and resign.
"As it is we can only hope that our own Conservative MP puts country before party and votes to remove Boris Johnson from office today when the vote of confidence takes place.
"His record up to this point leaves me doubtful he will do that."
It is not known if Crewe and Nantwich MP Dr Kieran Mullan handed in a letter, nor requested that the news be withheld until this morning.
Crewe Nub News contacted Dr Kieran Mullan MP and Crewe Conservative Constituency Association for comment this morning (June 6).
