Cheshire East Council has confirmed the grand opening date for an 'exciting' Crewe town centre development - located a former car park site.
Ly2, Lyceum Square, will officially launch to the public on Saturday 24 June - following five months of major works.
This project transforms the town's Lyceum Square into a new events and performance space.
It will host events, festivals, performances, and activities throughout the year.
A temporary road closure on Hill Street and Heath Street has been in place for several weeks - but will reopen on Wednesday 7 June.
The launch of LY2 will see the completion of phase two of the scheme. Phase three will be finished "later this summer."
On Friday 2 June, Cheshire East Council released a social media statement - confirmed the launch date of LY2.
The statement read: "This fantastic junction art is nearing completion as part of the Ly2 project in Crewe - a package of works to transform Lyceum Square into an exciting events and performance space.
"We will be hosting a grand opening event on Saturday 24 June and will be bringing you more news on that in the very near future.
"Currently there is a temporary road closure in place on Hill Street and part of Heath Street.
"These roads are expected to be open again by Wednesday 7 June.
"This is a multi-phased sequence of work – this is phase two.
"Phase three will include installation of final materials and imprinting of the junction. This will be completed later this summer."
LY2 consists of a raised events stage with an integrated digital screen, colourful and multi-functional street furniture and a wall mural.
Lyceum Square Car Park has been lost to this new development. Disabled parking bays have been relocated to the edge of the square.
