A 'cosy' Crewe pub is receiving 'just compliments' for its food menu and atmosphere in 2023 - aiming to attract more customers over weekends.

The Hop Pole, Wistaston Road, started opening from 9:30am in January - two and a half hours earlier than before.

Managed by landlord, Andrew Pearse and landlady, Rebecca Austin, this 'community' pub boasts Crewe's largest beer garden.

"2023 has been great with party bookings. We encourage people to get theirs booked in. The weather hasn't helped but local support means the world to us in order to operate, said Miss Austin.

The Crewe pub also offers a wide food menu across the day - receiving very favourable reviews.

Miss Austin told Nub News: "The food everyone loves. We understand we don't have a car park but there is plenty of parking over the area.

"We have no complaints just compliments. With a few taxi companies joining force with us, please ring to see how we can help arrange the journey with us.

"We are a cosy, friendly community local.

"We really think people should give us a try over weekends as we pride ourselves with the perfect pint.

"Our beer is cheap, with a £2.50 starting price. We have been complimented by CAMRA about our cask ales.

"We have received a cask marque accreditation and the pub is warm."

The Hop Pole is running a number of events this March - including St Patrick's Day celebrations (March 17) and a rock and indie night (March 25).

The Hop Pole serves breakfast from 9:30am until 2pm daily. Its main menu is served daily from 11am (Nub News).

With support from Crewe taxi companies, Westside and My Cab, the local pub is more now accessible.

The Hop Pole runs a free pool night every Thursday - with disco and karaoke night every Fright.

Miss Austin added: "The Hop Pole supports all local community events.

"On a weekend who doesn't like a dance and a sing song? We are getting more live music in as the demand grows.

"The more support we get the longer we can stay open as a community local."
