A pre-school and out of school club is set to relocate to the edge of Crewe town centre, in one of two "exciting" developments for a local childcare company.

ABC Pre-School and Out of School Club at Edleston Primary School will be relocating to the former Crewe Chronicle building, High Street, this December.

Its new setting will have spaces for 30 pre-school and out of school club children, serving residents and surrounding schools.

Owner of ABC Childcare, Lynsey Taylor, with business grant team leader of 'Open in Crewe', James Rowley (ABC).

An ABC Childcare Services spokesperson told Nub News: "We very excited to be part of Crewe's regeneration programme.

"Working closely with local developer 'Hilton Mundy' and the 'Repurposing on the High Street' team, we have been successful in gaining a grant of up to £30,000, which will be used alongside our own investment to ensure our new premises is outstanding for children in our care.

"We feel fortunate to be in-between three major developments: The Southern Gateway Link, Crewe Youth Zone and Crewe Arts Development Programme.

"We feel all three developments enhance our provision.

"The new pedestrian and cycle path will provide a green and safe pathway route to the library and heritage centre, where our pre-school and out of school club will visit during their educational journey.

"The Youth Zone will provide more than 20 activities where the children from their out of school club (who are 8 years plus) can access.

Crewe town centre's new art mural, initiated by Sherie Grist, is on the back of ABC Pre-School and Out of School Club's new premises (Ryan Parker).

"Thirdly, the art mural, designed by local youth and the community and initiated by Sherie Grist, will be featured in a 'mindful making Crewe' colouring book, launching alongside the full art trail from February 14 to 16 2025."

Following the success of a planning appeal, ABC at 129 Gainsborough Road will also be increasing its childcare places from 20 to 30 children, while working with the community.

The Edwardian house will have its top floor opened with a custom designed floor plan to accommodate the demand for additional places.

ABC's expansion comes in response to the government's initiative to provide free early years educational entitlement for families with children aged nine months and older.

ABC said: "We are very pleased both of our projects are coming into fruition and want to thank all those that have been instrumental in helping this happen.

This includes: Edleston Primary School, The Directors of ABC, Rory Mack, Hilton Mundy and Cheshire east RoHS team.

ABC's new High Steeet setting will have spaces for 30 pre-school and out of school club children, serving residents and surrounding schools (ABC).

"Established nearly 20 years, we are extremely pleased we can open our doors to more families.

"This setting provides home from home childcare, inspired by qualified teachers and early years professionals, providing a safe, warm and supportive environment for zero to three-year-olds to flourish."

ABC are in the process of rebranding its company name as they look forward to creating 'Amazing Beginnings for Children' within Cheshire East.
