Cheshire driver banned after being four times over drug limit

A Cheshire driver who was four times over the legal drug limit while being uninsured has been banned from the roads - following a hearing at Crewe's court.

Jake Grierson, 26, of Delamere Road, Handforth, admitted drug driving when the case was heard at Crewe Magistrates Court on April 25.

The Cheshire man was driving a Volkswagen Golf on Pickmere Road, Wilmslow on December 21, 2022, when he was stopped by police.

Jake Grierson, 26, of Delamere Road, Handforth, was banned from holding or obtaining a driving licence for three years (Google).

A subsequent blood test recorded 200ug/L of Benzoylecgonine, an ingredient of cocaine, in his system.

This was four times the legal limit for this breakdown product - standing at 50ug/L.

Grierson pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle without third party insurance.

The drug test also revealed Grierson had 7ug/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, an ingredient of cannabis, in his blood.

This was three and a half times the limit for this breakdown product - standing at 2ug/L.

Crewe Magistrates' Court banned Grierson from holding or obtaining a driving licence for three years.

Crewe Magistrates' Court handed Jake Grierson a fine of £345 (Cheshire Police).

The Cheshire man was also handed a fine of £345.

Grierson's guilty pleas were taken into account when the sentence was imposed.
