Car set on fire in suspected Crewe arson attack incident

A car was set on fire in a suspected arson attack in Crewe, with Cheshire Police appealing for information from the public.

On Saturday 22 June, emergency services received reports of an incident on Selworthy Drive.

At 12:58am, one fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene, discovering a car in flames.

Crewe firefighters informed Cheshire Police of the suspected arson incident (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel water jet to extinguish the vehicle.

After believing the car had been set alight deliberately, police were informed.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 1am on Saturday 22 June, police received reports of a car fire on Selworthy Drive.

"The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but it is believed it may have been caused deliberately.

Enquiries into the Crewe car fire incident are ongoing (Cheshire Police).

"Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information should call 101."
