Car engulfed by flames at park in Crewe arson attack

Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following the suspected arson of a car at a park in Crewe.

On Sunday 19 January, emergency services responded to reports of a fire on Pebble Brook Park, off Artle Road.

At 3.15am, emergency services found a vehicle engulfed by flames, which was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Egerton's recovered the vehicle in the early hours of Sunday 19 January (Crewe Police).

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate, with an investigation launched.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "We are urging anyone who was in the area around 3am and thinks they may have seen anything suspicious to get in touch.

"The same goes for anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage from around the time of the incident which may aid our investigation.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website, quoting IML-2008599.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate, with an investigation launched (Cheshire Police).

"Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
