Capital & Centric confirmed as Crewe town centre regeneration developer

Manchester-based developer, Capital & Centric, has been confirmed as the company set to deliver a major regeneration of Crewe town centre.
Working predominantly across the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands, Capital & Centric will make its first move into Cheshire with plans for the Royal Arcade site.
The scheme, in partnership with Cheshire East Council, could bring over 300 high-quality new homes, along with commercial space for shops and businesses and improved public areas.

Capital & Centric's plans include the undeveloped part of the Royal Arcade site, Chester Street Car Park, and Delamere Street Car Park.
A mix of houses and apartments are proposed.
Co-founder of Capital & Centric, Tim Heatley, said: "Crewe has all the ingredients to be a brilliant place to live, work, and spend time, but like so many towns, it needs bold moves to get it there.
"Cheshire East has big ambitions, and we can't wait to get going on creating a community that lasts, homes with character, spaces for independent businesses to thrive, and public areas where people want to gather.
"We are buzzing to be moving to the next stage and working alongside the council and local people to make it happen."
Capital & Centric will launch a public consultation in the coming weeks on proposals for the three Crewe town centre sites.
Leader of Cheshire East Council, Cllr Nick Mannion, said: "Crewe is one of the sub-region's key priority areas for growth and we want to create a high-quality town centre that reflects Crewe's character and has more town centre living, with the benefits that brings in terms of footfall and sense of community.

"We are excited by the vision, but we're also realistic.
"We will be working closely with partners, stakeholders, and the community to ensure this development reflects Crewe's needs and aspirations."
This news comes after Cheshire East agreed to create a business case for ambitious plans to transform Crewe into the 'best small city' in Europe by 2050 on September 9.
