A growing cake shop chain with stores across the UK is set to open on a busy road in Crewe within the coming weeks, as work begins at the site.

Egg Free Cake Box will be opening at 66-68 Nantwich Road, formerly occupied by KPI Recruiting, which relocated to Capital House, Fourth Avenue last year.

The fresh cream cake shop makes personalised celebration cakes, cheesecakes, cake slices and cupcakes, with all products completely egg-free.

Cake Box, which is suitable for a lacto-vegetarian diet, is expected to open in Crewe this summer.

Founded in 2008, the chain which has a store on Broad Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, now has over 230 UK outlets, with many more to come in 2024.

A Cake Box spokesperson said: "We are dedicated to producing the highest quality eggless, vegetarian cream cakes for all occasions.

"You will be amazed and delighted at the selection of freshly made cakes and slices ready to go, on display in our bright and inviting shops on the high street.

"Our new range of eggless cheesecakes, luxury tea time cakes and a wide range of cupcakes are also proving very popular with our customers.
