Bentley Motors has announced that a brand new car model will be launched at its factory next week - the fifth model to join its luxury car portfolio.

Bentley Motors Crewe headquarters is home to all of its operations including design, R&D, engineering, Mulliner and production of the company's four model lines and the company employs people from Sandbach and Alsager.

Currently, Bentley's four models are Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, Flying Spur, and Bentayga.

This is all about to change next week. Bentley will announce a fifth model to join its portfolio of luxury cars at 12:30 BST on Tuesday 10 May.

Bentley Motors say that the company's designers, engineers and craftspeople have gone to new lengths to combine luxury, technology and performance in a way that only this company can deliver.

A Bentley Motors spokesperson said: "With an extra dimension of on-board wellness, the new model will sit in sumptuous comfort at the pinnacle of its range and deliver a breadth of capabilities beyond anything previously offered."

In recent years, even during the COVID-19 pandemic - Bentley added to its luxury car lineup.

This was most recently the Flying Spur Hybrid. A 2.9-litre V6 engine paired with an electric motor that delivers 536 brake-horsepower.

The Flying Spur hybrid has been certified as 'the most efficient Bentley ever' from The Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).

Bentley's combination of fine craftsmanship, has used skills that have been handed down through generations.

This has come alongside engineering expertise and cutting-edge technology, unique to UK luxury car brands.

Currently, Bentley employs around 4,000 people at Crewe.

The new car model launch news comes just days after Bentley announced it is looking for up to 100 new engineers for a new electric cars plan.

Bentey recently announced it will be empolying 100 new engineers for Crewe, as part of an electric cars plan (Bentley Motors).

Bentley is planning to launch a new electric model each year, from 2025, redefining the luxury car manufacturer's credentials. All cars will be designed and developed in Crewe.

The positions will cover multiple disciplines of engineering and research and development and all be based at the Crewe headquarters.

The recruitment drive is part of Bentley's planned greenfield investment evolution of its Crewe site that will have a digital, zero environmental impact.

As part of the changes, Bentley will install 10,000 new solar panels, making the on-site total 40,000.

The strategy is part of Bentley's Beyond100 initiative - analysing all aspects of its cars life cycles.
