Arsonists strike rear of Crewe property in garden bin blaze
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have dealt with an arson attack in Crewe - targeting a bin within the garden of a property.
The incident on Bidvale Way, off Stoneley Road, happened on Sunday evening (September 25) at 9:16.
One fire engine from Crewe attended the scene - quickly putting out the bin blaze.
Crewe firefighters used a water backpack to extinguish the flames.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A water backpack was used by firefighters to put out a fire in a bin.
"The bin was in the garden of a property."
Deliberate bin fires are becoming a common occurrence in Crewe.
Last month (August), Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled bin fires in Crewe town centre - started in the middle of the night.
Two bins of rubbish had been burnt across the floor. Another was left just spilled.
During this incident, firefighters used a hose jet reel to put out the bin fires.
The perpetrators had already left the scene.
Cheshire Constabulary were called and unable to trace the offenders.
