Police descend on Crewe hospital after man in crisis stands on roof

Cheshire Police officers descended on Crewe's hospital, following reports of a man in crisis standing on the roof of a building.

On Tuesday 6 February, police received reports of an incident at Leighton Hospital.

Officers were alerted to "concerns for the safety of a man," who had been refusing to come down from the roof of a building.

The man eventually engaged with Leighton Hospital staff and agreed to come down from the roof of a building (Nub News).

He was brought to the ground safely, with no injuries sustained.

No arrests were made in the incident, with the man handed into the care of hospital staff.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 11.21am on Tuesday 6 February, police were called to concerns for the safety of a man on the roof of Leighton Hospital.  

No arrests were made in the incident, with the man handed into the care of paramedics (Cheshire Police).

"Officer attended the site however the man engaged with hospital staff and was brought to the ground safely. "
