It is expected the branch will reopen on Thursday 11 September, with a notice placed on the door to make people aware.

In the meantime, customers can use the Halifax Market Centre branch while the refurbishment is carried out.

A Lloyds spokesperson told Nub News: "We are refurbishing our Lloyds branch, which means it will be closed for a short while.

"The branch will reopen on Thursday 11 September, and, in the meantime, customers can bank as usual at our nearby Halifax branch in the Market Centre.

"Alongside other ways to bank including via our app, telephone, online banking and the Post Office."
