A popular Crewe pub collected "nearly 300 Easter eggs," as part of its annual community appeal supporting children and vulnerable residents across the town.

The Eight Farmers, Parkers Road, launched the initiative 10 years ago, originally aiming to provide Easter eggs for every child at Leighton Hospital.

It has since grown significantly, now supporting the Children's Ward, Cheshire Buddies, local churches, care homes and more.

Local businesses, including Richard Palin Gas Services and Above Line Exhibitions were thanked, along with regular customers.

The Eight Farmers said: "We want to say a massive, massive thank you to all who have donated Easter Eggs to our annual Easter Egg appeal

"We started this 10 years ago with the initial objective of giving every child who was in hospital at Leighton an Easter egg and it has grown year on year.

"We now donate to Children's Ward, Cheshire Buddies, Local Churches, Care Homes and more."

Staff at The Eight Farmers have been busy preparing its beer garden for the summer season, with upgrades including cleaning, painting and installing play equipment.

The Leighton venue, which came 10th in Crewe's most popular pub for 2026 poll, has highlighted rising costs facing the hospitality industry, including energy, rates and subscriptions.

Landlady, Lisa Hamlett, said: "We have been very busy dusting the winter blues from the beer garden and getting it summer ready Castles are up, paving jetwashed and tables and fences painted.

"All we ask is for you to support us and purchase a drink when you pay us a visit.

"We are getting more and more people who come and try to bring their own drink and food, ask for water, or buy nothing at all.

"As much as we would love to put everything on for free, we simply cannot."
