Crewe's Queens Park café is set to reopen in mid-July with new temporary operator, Everybody Health and Leisure (EHL), taking on the site until next summer.

In February, parent firm behind Park Life Café, Deep Beat Entertainment Limited, went into administration, as reported by Crewe Nub News.

On Saturday 22 June, Park Life Café closed, with EHL signing a lease arrangement to take on the site as a 'Taste for Life Café' until August 2025.

Contractors started on-site on Tuesday 25 June to undertake works for the new operator, with all Park Life Café team members remaining in post under EHL.

Taste for Life Café is expected to open on the week commencing Monday 15 July.

Interim director of environment and neighbourhoods for Cheshire East Council, Tom Shuttleworth, told Nub News: "Everybody Health and Leisure (EHL) have signed lease arrangements to allow them to run the cafés at Queens Park in Crewe and West Park in Macclesfield on a temporary basis while the council procures a new operator for both sites.

"The temporary arrangement is expected to see EHL operate the cafés until August next year.

"The café at Queens Park closed on Saturday 22 June with contractors starting on site on Tuesday 25 June to undertake important works.

"EHL is expected to reopen the Queens Park café on the week commencing Monday 15 July.

Everybody Health & Leisure will not be taking over Queens Park's boat hire. It is hoped another operator will pick this up in the near future (Park Life Café).

"The café at West Park will remain closed until works on this site are complete with EHL expected to reopen on the week commencing Monday 5 August.

"The council understands that the temporary closure of the café in Queens Park and the continued closure of the café in West Park is disappointing for the parks' many visitors.

"However, these are essential works that will allow EHL to take over operations over the summer and help support the long-term future for these important community assets.

'We thank all park users for their patience while these works take place."

Chief executive officer at Everybody Health & Leisure, Thomas Barton (EHL).

Chief executive officer at Everybody Health & Leisure, Thomas Barton, said: "We are delighted to be able to take our 'Taste for Life' service into the parks at both Queens Park in Crewe and West Park in Macclesfield.

"Our food and beverage menus are designed with all families in mind when visiting and we hope to support all the different activities taking place in the parks this summer and beyond."
