The Role
As an Adults Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in assessing needs, ensuring protection, and coordinating resources for our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
Assessment and Intervention:
- Assess the need for social work services, including the identification of risk and the need for protection.
- Determine the appropriate method of intervention.
- Decide and advise on the use of suitable social services and/or other resources, ensuring clients receive the best possible support package.
- Case Management & Compliance:
- Effectively manage and monitor an allocated workload in line with individual and team priorities, and Council policies.
- Comply fully with all relevant statutory obligations and legislation.
Multi-Agency Working:
- Liaise and negotiate with other professionals, statutory agencies, and voluntary organisations to ensure a seamless and comprehensive service is provided for all clients.
Professional Development & Standards:
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records of work undertaken and carry out all required administrative procedures diligently.
- Actively prepare for and attend supervision sessions and staff meetings.
- Make full use of all available training and development opportunities to enhance your practice.
- Contribute to the evaluation and development of services and new ideas by sharing knowledge about theory, skills, and best practice with colleagues and other professional groups.
- Opportunities to supervise social work students where appropriate.

What You Will Bring
- A recognised Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience working as a Social Worker within Adults' Services.
- A comprehensive knowledge of relevant Adult Social Care legislation and policy.
- Strong assessment, planning, and communication skills.
- A commitment to person-centred practice and safeguarding.
