YMCA Cheshire provides supported accommodation for people experiencing homelessness or the threat of homelessness. The focus of Housing Coaches is to provide comprehensive, intensive Housing Management, supporting individuals to move towards independent living and greater stability.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Housing Coach 18+ (Gresty) to provide comprehensive, intensive housing management support to people aged 18+ living within YMCA Cheshire's supported accommodation services.This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. One day may involve taking accommodation enquiries and conducting health and safety tours, while another could involve supporting a resident with budgeting, facilitating group sessions, or helping someone prepare to move on into independent living.
Key Responsibilities
Deal with accommodation enquiries both over the phone and in person
Assess referrals for accommodation using YMCA Cheshire's risk and need processesSupport residents with budgeting and meeting financial obligations
Undertake health and safety tours and act as Fire Officer as part of the rotaCarry out one-to-one and group sessions to support independent living skills
Develop regularly reviewed action plans with residents focused on sustaining independent livingSupport residents to access statutory, voluntary, community and faith sector services
Promote resident engagement and ensure their views and aspirations are actively sought and acted uponMaintain accurate records using paper and IT systems
Build relationships with providers and landlords to support resettlement and move-on opportunitiesAbout You

Can build meaningful relationships using strong interpersonal skillsHas knowledge of the issues facing disadvantaged people
Can work collaboratively with team members and partner organisationsHas good IT skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Can implement appropriate safeguarding and health and safety proceduresHolds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle for work purposes
