Co-op has created a design a bench competition for Crewe town centre, with local schools encouraged to take part and send in their designs.

The free to enter competition is open to all primary and secondary schools with a Crewe postcode.

Co-op is looking for schoolchildren's designs relating to Crewe's heritage, and what the town means to them individually.

One prize of £150 cheque will be sent out to the winning pupil in the post, along with a £150 donation to their Crewe school (Nub News).

They have been asked to design a bench using the theme: Thinking about Co-op's heritage in Crewe and it being the second place the Rochdale Pioneers (Co-op founders) went into after Manchester, what does Crewe and its community mean to you?

The winning design will be displayed on a new bench and installed in Crewe town centre to be used by the whole community.
