Private Albert Lockett served in the 19th (Service) Battalion, King's Liverpool Regiment and worked for his father, who was a boot repairer in Earle Street. He was killed in action on May 11, 1918 in Belgium.

More than 200 of the people listed on the War Memorial in Memorial Square, Crewe are featured on a video screen displayed in the Market Hall during the days leading up to Remembrance Sunday.

The 'More Than a Name' project has identified photographs of 206 of those named on the Memorial – approaching a third of the total number of names. These photographs have been combined with background details and personal information to bring the people behind the listed names to life in a commemoration of the men and women who fell during the two World Wars and other conflicts.
