'I couldn't believe It' - local grandad is £1,500 Crewe Prize Draw winner
By Ryan Parker 3rd Jul 2026
Someone had to be the very first winner of the Crewe Prize Draw - and now we can finally reveal it was grandad Rob Brown from Nantwich.
The brand new draw, supported by Swansway Motor Group, not only saw one lucky local resident take home an incredible £1,500 cash prize, but also raised money for good causes across the town, proving everyone can be a winner.
Congratulations Rob! There were also four lucky winners of £20 each and those tickets were White 4240, Green 3644, Blue 3807 and Blue 4221.
The Crewe Prize Draw takes place every other Thursday at 7.30pm. Buy your ticket here and help support local Crewe charities.

So what goes through your mind when you receive a phone call telling you that you've won £1,500? We caught up with Rob to find out:
Q: How did you first find out about the draw?
Rob: It just popped up on the internet, I think I was on It came up as a pop-up on a Nub News site and I thought, 'This is good, it's for local charities.'
It's a small donation, but it's local and I like to support local causes.
Q: What was your first reaction when you were told that you won?
Rob: I couldn't believe it. I was quite surprised, because you don't expect to win. it's only a few quid to enter, and it is a bit of a donation at the end of the day.
You don't expect to win, so it's terrific.
Q: Some people might think something like this is a scam. Did you think it was a scam at first?
Rob: Well, you've got to be cautious these days, haven't you? Especially us old folks.
Q: Can I ask how many tickets you bought?
Rob: I bought two. I'll be buying more for the next one, though.
Q: Why did you enter?
Rob: Just to make a small donation to local charities. I consider it a donation, not an attempt to win money.
Q: Have you ever won anything like this before?
Rob: I haven't, no. I do the Premium Bonds, and I've won small prizes there, but nothing like this.
Q: What does winning £1,500 mean to you?
Rob: It's obviously quite helpful. It will allow me to treat the family. I have a four-year-old grandson, so he'll be happy to see me at the weekend.
Q: What does it feel like knowing you're helping Crewe charities?
Rob: It always feels good to make a donation to charity.
Q: Will you be entering the fortnightly Crewe Prize Draw again?
Rob: I will, yes. I'm obliged to now.
Q: What is your history with the area? What did you do for a living before retiring?
Rob: I moved to South Cheshire after I retired. but I lived abroad for a long time.
When I came back to the north west and retired, I moved down to Nantwich. I love this area; it's a good place. So, I don't have a long-term family or work connection here, but I just love the whole area.
