CREWE FC went down to a 2-1 defeat at Lostock Gralam in the Cheshire League's end-of-season cup format.

The Cumberland Arena outfit fought back to level in the closing stages of their behind-closed-doors J.B Parker Cup fixture in mid Cheshire with sub Jason McMullan on target.

But within a couple of minutes the Grey Lambs were back ahead with Joe Woolley hitting the winner.

Crewe FC's reserve side had a very youthful look to it as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Denton Town Reserves.

No fewer than six members of the club's under-16s side featured in the game at the Cumberland Arena. Bailey Aldington, Harrison Denton, Joe Armstrong, Bailey Sherlock, Louie McGarry and Sol Okolo (pictured above) all showed they are very capable of tackling adult football.

In the CREWE AND DISTRICT LEAGUE Sandbach Curshaws demolished their nearest rivals Crewe Town Jaguars as the leaders hit double figures for the second weekend running.

Ryan Simmons hit five and Sam Critchley a brace in a thumping 10-0 and there were singles for Darren Bailey, Fraser Keena and Cameron Mitchell.

Curshaws are now eight points clear of second-placed Crewe Town and look odds on for the title.

The clash between Elworth Park Rangers and Mary Dendy was a somewhat closer affair with Elworth ahead at the break.

But Mary Dendy fought back and a strong second half saw them finish up as 4-3 winners with goals from Bjorn Hughes (2), James Curbishley and Rick Passoni.

Basement sides Sandbach Town and Crewe Town Reserves fought out a 3-3 draw. Sandbach Town's goals coming from Jonathan Carney, Finn O'Brien and an own goal
