Work starts on new Crewe retail park health and beauty store
Work has started on a new health and beauty store in Crewe, taking on a former carpet shop which closed in August.
Superdrug is taking on the old Carpetright unit, Grand Junction Retail Park, after plans were submitted in early October.
The UK's second largest health and beauty chain proposed external alterations to the front and rear of the retail premises.
Work started on the new Superdrug development in mid-December, just before Christmas.
Scaffolding is currently placed around the site, with the unit totally stripped out.
With these plans, it looked likely Superdrug would be departing Crewe town centre, which the retailer has rebuffed.
A Superdrug spokesperson told Nub News: "Superdrug currently have no plans to close their Crewe town centre store."
In nearby Shrewsbury, a town of a similar size to Crewe, Superdrug operates a town centre and retail park store.
Superdrug recently closed down stores in St Andrews, Scotland and nearby Macclesfield.
