Woman arrested for GBH following serious assault in Crewe street

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) for a serious assault in Crewe, after a female was taken to hospital with a back wound.

On Sunday 21 April, Cheshire Police received reports of an "altercation" between two women in Elm Drive.

At 6:03am, emergency services arrived at the scene, discovering a female had been assaulted.

A woman was taken to hospital with a wound to her back, but has since been discharged (Nub News).

A 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of GBH, who remains in police custody.

At this time, officers are establishing the cause of the woman's injury.

A Cheshire Police spokes told Nub News: "At 6.03am on Sunday 21 April, police were called to reports of an altercation between two women in Elm Drive, Crewe. 

"Officers attended the scene and found one woman had been assaulted.

A 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of GBH, who currently remains in police custody (Cheshire Police).

"She was taken to hospital with a wound to her back but has since been discharged. 

"A 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. She remains in police custody at this time."
