What's on in Crewe this weekend: wide variety of live music across town

The SUN is out, temperatures are picking up and local parks are getting busier. If you haven't checked out Queens Park this year maybe do so on Saturday, it's forecast to be clear skies with spring sunshine.

Crewe has you covered for lots events taking place from Friday through to Sunday.

Even before the weekend has started, there is a stand up comedy night tonight at Tom's Tap and Brewhouse on Thomas street, starting at 7:30pm.

Here are our top picks for this weekend:

1. Sophie Bond at Crewe Market Hall

Crewe Market Hall has fast become a hub for all sections of the community.

On Saturday evening (March 19) former X-factor contestant Sophie Bond, performs live on the Market Hall's stage.

Sophie starts her set at 8pm. Make sure you get there nice and early to get a front row seat and enjoy the food and drink on offer from the Market's stalls.

2. The Mad Dog Davies Band at Ebenezer's

The semi-acoustic band will performing at the Crewe craft beer and gin bar on Nantwich Road this Sunday afternoon (March 20).

The bands set starts at 2pm, taking you through acts like The Clash and The Dubliners.

3. Ben Maitland at Crewe Market Hall

On Friday evening (March 18) Ben Maitland performs live on the Market Hall's stage.

The solo singer will be taking you through indie anthems and pop classics.

His performance begins at 8pm.

More big Crewe events this weekend

The ultimate Britpop experience act, Marblehead Johnson will be performing at The Cosey Club in Haslington this Friday.

Named after the Bluetones britpop anthem, Marblehead Johnson play songs from the likes of Blur, Oasis, Pulp and The Verve. It all kicks off at 8pm.

This Saturday, party rock band Artisan will be performing at The Brunswick on Nantwich Road. Artizan will take you through 70's, 80's and 90's tunes.

The event begins at 9:30pm and last until midnight, free entry.

DJ Breeze will make sure the party goes on until the early hours.

Crewe Market Hall will also be hosting a pop up market and a meet Peppa Pig and Elsa day for children from 10am this Sunday.
