AT Nub News we have launched a weekly round up of what's on in Crewe each weekend.

Every Thursday we bring you our top picks of the events being held in the area that are listed on our What's On section for the coming weekend.

If your business or organisation is running an event, you can advertise it for free with Crewe Nub News. Follow this link to our What's On section and click the black 'Nub It' button.

Our top events for Remembrance weekend include a Great War Exhibition and some great live music.

1. Cheshire Villages Great War Society WWI Exhibition

Members of the Cheshire Villages Great War Society were so impressed with the excellent poppy displays mounted by Haslington residents they agreed to host their World War One (WW1) exhibition on Saturday (November 13) at St. Matthew's Church Hall.

MP Kieran Mullen will be among the dignitaries delivering a speech and the guest list will include the High Sheriff of Cheshire. As well as some expertly-researched material on display there will be a military ambulance to have a look around.

Check out the times here.

2. The Microtones at Crewe Market Hall

Acoustic duo the Microtones offer something a bit different at the Market Hall on Friday night (November 12)

They are on stage at 8pm, there's no admission so why not read about the duo and catch a clip of their music at our What's On section.

3. The Harley'n'Dutch Band at Crewe Market Hall

There's more free great music at the Market Hall on Saturday night with a six-piece vocal harmony band who play music covers from the 1950s to the present. Read about the event on our What's On listing here.

Of course, Remembrance Sunday takes pride of place among local events. Organised by the Crewe branch of the RBL and Crewe Town Council, the Sunday Service (November 14) begins with a parade starting at 10.20am from the Civic Centre to Memorial Square.

Then the wreath-laying will take place after the two-minute silence is observed at 11am.

Road restrictions are in place in the town centre and everyone attending is being asked to be mindful of Covid guidelines.
