PM announced latest lockdown easing.
PM announced latest lockdown easing.

BORIS Johnson confirmed the lockdown easing permitted from next Monday in an address to the nation this evening (Monday).

From May 17 you will be able to have friends to your house and drink inside a pub, rather than outdoors, as part of the changes announced by the PM.

But Mr Johnson warned: "This doesn't mean we should throw caution into the wind, I urge you to think about the vulnerability of your loved ones. Whatever you decide I must ask you to follow social distancing with friends and family.

"We only have to look at the sad situation in other countries, we must continue to fight the spread of variants in the UK. We must remain vigilant."
