A new discount clothing shop has arrived in Crewe - boosting the town's shopping centre that has lost big chains in recent years.

Chainstore Outlet opened inside Crewe's Market Shopping Centre on Thursday (May 12).

The unit was formerly occupied by fashion chain River Island, which moved to The Grand Junction Retail Park in 2019.

"So far all is good, Crewe people are friendly. There is a welcoming feel to the Market Shopping Centre," says joint owner of Chainstore Outlet Crewe, Sue Huxley.

Clothes Chainstore is originally from Mold, Flintshire. The store has expanded to Crewe following its success in the Welsh town.

Mrs Huxley told Nub News: "We saw the opportunity in Crewe, so we thought that we would give it a try. We have had a store in Mold for close to seven years, starting in 2016."

"We sell chainstore clothes at discounted prices for ladies, men and children."

Mrs Huxley from Mold, owns the Crewe store with her husband of 20 years, Jamie Huxley.

The married owners who live in Wales, won't be running the Crewe store - although their daughter Shannon, 19, will be working there.

"We have a number of staff working in the Crewe store. Shannon puts a lot of work into the shops," said the joint owner.

Chainstore Outlet Crewe has up to 70 per cent off branded clothes and has a dedicated kids section inside.

Clothes brands sold in the store include, DKNY, Ralph Lauren and River Island. The brands on sale will change regularly.

Mrs Huxley added: "I haven't had much time to look around Crewe town centre, but I really like the feel of the place.

"You should come to our shop because you will find bargains galore and new weekly stock."

In recent years, Crewe Market Shopping Centre has lost the big chains of Argos, Clinton's, Roman Originals and One Below.

Chainstore Outlet follows Poundstretcher opening inside the shopping centre which replaced One Below in December 2021.
