Haslington Support Group and Cheshire Villages Great War Society have been honoured with awards for community service from the High Sheriff of Cheshire.
The support group, founded at the height of the pandemic, continues to help with shopping, collecting prescriptions, transport for medical appointments and providing emergency food.
It teamed up with Cheshire Villages Great War Society to stage a WWI exhibition at St Matthews Church Hall in Haslington which drew more than 350 visitors.
Medals and photographs were on display and volunteers on hand to help people trace the history of servicemen and women from the Great War.
Haslington Support Group spokesman Helen Mollart said: "We are proud to announce that we received an award for community service from the High Sheriff of Cheshire, as did the Cheshire Villages Great War Society. Both awards were presented by High Sheriff Robert Mee DL at the WWI Exhibition which we hosted at St Matthews Church Hall, Haslington on Saturday, November 13.
"The exhibition was a great success, attended by several dignitaries and over 350 visitors. Dr Keiran Mullan, MP gave the opening speech, and we welcomed Mayors from Cheshire East, Sandbach, Crewe and Nantwich to the event, at which refreshments were provided by Haslington WI.
"Many thanks to all our hard-working volunteers, business supporters including Bovis Homes, part of Vistry Group who sponsored the hall hire and photography, and residents of Haslington."
