A private health university with a new campus in Crewe has even fined for filing its accounts over two years late - missing multiple deadlines to publish them.
The University of Buckingham, with a health science campus off Crewe Green Road, has been fined £37,231 for missing deadlines to publish its audited accounts.
It is the first university to be fined by the Office for Students (OfS) - missing its initial deadline of May 2020.
The University of Buckingham requested and missed subsequent extensions to file its audits - finally submitting them over two years late in June 2022.
OfS' £37,231 fine is equivalent to 0.1% of the university's qualifying income - mainly from student tuition fees.
Buckingham has blamed the audit delays on the opening of its new Crewe campus and COVID-19 lockdowns.
