Two treated by paramedics following house blaze in Crewe

Two people were treated by paramedics following a blaze at a residential property in Crewe, believed to have been started accidentally.

On Monday 6 January, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of an incident on Myrtle Street, off Edleston Road.

At around 2.20pm, two fire engines from Crewe arrived at the scene, discovering a blaze in the kitchen of a property.

The cause of the Myrtle Street property blaze is believed to be accidental (Ryan Parker).

Crewe firefighters used two hose reel jets to put out the flames, with a high-pressure fan used to clear smoke.

No one was seriously injured in the incident, with the property sustaining some damage.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to tackle a fire in a kitchen at a house in Crewe.

"A high-pressure fan was used to clear the smoke.

No one was seriously injured in the incident, with the Myrtle Street property sustaining some damage (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

"Two people were accounted for and were assessed by paramedics on scene.

"The cause is believed to be accidental."
