TWO people needed hospital treatment after a bedroom fire at a Crewe property.

Three crews from Crewe, Nantwich and Sandbach fire stations were sent to the scene at West Street at 10.39 this morning (Friday) by which time the occupants had got out of the property.

They were placed in the care of paramedics and were later taken to hospital because they were suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.

The crews spent two hours putting out the blaze and deployed a large fan to disperse smoke, while a check was made of the roof to see if the fire had spread.
