Two men have been arrested after a fight broke out at a Crewe Alex FC function room, with the incident unrelated to a match.

On Saturday 23 March, Cheshire Police received reports of a brawl at The Railwaymen Bar and Lounge, Gresty Road.

Just after 10:45pm, officers arrived at the scene, discovering a number of people coming to blows.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, with a 19-year-old man arrested for common assault (Cheshire Police).

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "Shortly after 10.45pm on Saturday 23 March, police were called to reports of a fight at a function room, off Gresty Road.

"A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

"He has since been released on unconditional bail.

The 23-year-old man has been released on unconditional bail, with the 19-year-old male given a community resolution order (Cheshire Police).

"A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault.

"He has since been given a community resolution order."
