Two men arrested following burglary at Crewe town centre phone shop

Two men have been arrested following a burglary at Crewe town centre phone shop, after a police helicopter was deployed to the scene.

On Friday 12 January, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident at EE, Earle Street.

At around 9:30pm, a large number of officers arrived at the scene, supported by a police helicopter.

EE, Earle Street, was closed on Saturday 13 January and reopened on Sunday 14 January (Ryan Parker).

Two men, aged 42 and 45, from the Manchester area, were detained in Crewe town centre.

The pair were arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault of emergency workers.

Several weapons were located and seized, along with a vehicle.

The two man have since been released on conditional bail. Enquiries are ongoing.

A large number of Cheshire Police officers were supported by a police helicopter in Crewe town centre on Friday 12 January (Wiki Commons).

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 9.30pm on Friday 12 January, police were called to a phone shop in Earle Street, following reports of a burglary.

"Officers attended and a search was made with the assistance of the police helicopter.

"Two men aged 42 and 45 were arrested and have since been released on conditional bail. Enquiries are continuing.

"Anyone with information can contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website.

EE was closed on Saturday 13 January and reopened on Sunday 14 January.
