Two fire engines rush to house fire on Crewe street

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have tackled a house fire in Crewe - believed to have started in the kitchen of a two-storey property.

The incident on Walthall Street was reported at 12:10pm this afternoon (August 12).

Two fire engines from Crewe attended the scene - quickly putting out the fire.

Walthall Street from Nantwich Road. The kitchen fire happened on the first floor of a two-storey property (Ryan Parker).

All residents of the house have been accounted for.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to reports of a house fire in Walthall Street, Crewe.

"On arrival, crews found smoke issuing from the first floor of the two-storey property, with all persons accounted for.

"Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a large to extinguish the fire and clear smoke from the property.

"The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen."

All people inside the house were accounted for. There were no reported injuries (Ryan Parker).

There were no reported injuries from the kitchen fire.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has since left the scene.
