Two cars damaged in suspected Crewe arson attack
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled a Crewe car blaze in a suspected arson attack - which caused damage to another vehicle.
The incident on Neville Street, off Ernest Street, happened at 9:15pm on Sunday night (September 11).
One fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene - putting out the deliberate blaze.
The Crewe firefighters quickly contacted Cheshire Police, believing the car fire was an act of arson.
They waited at the scene until officers arrived - explaining to them what had happened.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "A fire involving a car also caused heat damage to a second vehicle in what is believed to be a case of deliberate ignition.
"Firefighters in breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the fire and remained at the scene to await the arrival of police."
This afternoon (September 12), Cheshire Constabulary confirmed the incident to Crewe Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "At 9.30pm on Sunday (September 11), police were called to reports of a car that had been set alight on Neville Street in Crewe.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Cheshire Constabulary online quoting IML 1364822.
