Turkish family living in Crewe opens new fast-food eatery in town

A new Turkish 'family' fast-food eatery has opened on a busy food stretch in Crewe - replacing a former takeaway which relocated to the town centre.

GOGO Kebab, Nantwich Road, officially opened on Thursday (November 17) - replacing former takeaway Mama Mia which relocated to High Street in 2021.

The kebab shop is run by a Turkish family living in Crewe - with four people operating inside and one member working as a delivery driver.

"This place used to be Mama Mia and has been empty for over a year," said staff member and social media manager, Ramon Copak.

GOGO Kebab sells a variety of fast-food, including: pizzas, burgers, fried chicken, garlic bread, omelettes and jacket potatoes.

The takeaway also sells calzones and has a selection of value boxes and kids meals.

Mr Copak told Nub News: "My brother-in law had to re-do everything, including the ceiling, It has taken seven months to do.

"We do nice pizzas in here. They are different to other takeaways as they are made in a traditional Turkish shape.

"We hope to employ more inside staff and another delivery driver once it gets busier."

GOGO Kebab has a successful launch which was described as a 'crazy day' by Mr Copak.

The eatery's social media manager posted on social media, saying: "It was a crazy day.

"Thank you to everyone who has ordered and tried our new food. I hope you all liked it."

A description for the Crewe business reads: "We aim to bring all of our customers the best value for money, services and food around.

"Plus, we are constantly aiming to improve our service. You can now order food online."

GOGO Kebab is currently open 4:30pm to 11:00pm (Monday to Sunday) - offering free deliveries.

The eatery has applied for a premises license to be open until 1am (Sunday to Thursday) and 2am (Friday to Saturday).

So far, GOGO Kebab has received positive reviews on Google - receiving a rating of 4.8/5 from 10 submissions.
