Tributes flood in for 'incredibly talented' Crewe musician who died two days after crash

The family and band mates of 'incredibly talented' musician from Crewe who died two days after a car crash in South Cheshire - have paid tribute to him.

Christopher Allen, 47, was taken to Royal Stoke Hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision on the Wettenhall Road, Poole, near Nantwich on Monday 15 May.

Sadly, Christopher, known to many as 'Bigsby,' passed away on Wednesday 17 May.

Christopher's family have now paid tribute to him, saying: "Loved brother, son and uncle. Known to many as Bigsby, keep on rocking.

"The family wish to be left in privacy at this time."

Christopher was a founding member and former guitarist of popular Crewe-based rock and indie band, Green Bullet.

Green Bullet, shocked by the passing of their friend - posted a social media tribute to 'Bigsby' on Wednesday 17 May.

A statement read: "It is with the saddest and heaviest of hearts that we share the news with you our former guitarist, founder member and dear friend Chris 'Bigsby' Allen passed away this afternoon.

"It's hard to know quite what to say at the moment, but we had the the absolute pleasure and honour of not only sharing the stage with such an incredibly talented guy, creating so many funny, awesome and quite often ridiculous memories.

"Not to mention playing so many amazing gigs together, but also years of friendship before, during and after his time with the band.

"Fly high Bigsby til the next time, you will be sorely missed, love you man."

Christopher Allen, from Crewe, was a loved brother, son and uncle (Green Bullet).

Christopher was the driver of a silver Audi TT Quattro which collided with a white Volvo on Monday 15 May.

The driver of the Volvo, a 65-year-old local woman, was also injured and taken to Leighton Hospital - she has since been discharged.
